FC Barcelona Sack Ronald Koeman - Hansi Flick, Chelsea F.C., N'Golo Kanté, and Al-Ittihad Club Linked
FC Barcelona have decided to part ways with manager Ronald Koeman.
After a poor start to the 2021-22 season, which has seen Barcelona win just four of their first 11 games in LaLiga, the club's hierarchy have decided to make a change in the dugout.
Koeman's departure was confirmed in a statement released by the club on Wednesday morning.
Former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick is the favorite to replace Koeman.
Flick is a highly-rated coach who won the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League treble with Bayern in 2019-20.
He is currently available after leaving Bayern at the end of last season.
Chelsea F.C. are also interested in appointing Flick.
The Blues are looking for a new manager after sacking Frank Lampard in January.
Flick is one of the candidates that Chelsea are considering, along with Ajax's Erik ten Hag and RB Leipzig's Julian Nagelsmann.
N'Golo Kanté is a target for Al-Ittihad Club.
The Saudi Arabian club are reportedly interested in signing the French midfielder from Chelsea.
Kanté has been a key player for Chelsea since joining the club from Leicester City in 2016.
LaLiga is considering a salary cap.
The Spanish league is looking to introduce a salary cap in order to reduce spending and promote financial sustainability.
The cap would be based on a percentage of each club's revenue.
